i'm in love.

i'll admit - i'm not exactly up on my modern art. i remember basics from my rather brief brush with art history in college. i do art only one way: if i like it, it's good for me... & i'm in love with kenton nelson's figurative works.
kenton nelson captures people with such accuracy, it's hard not to fall in love with his amazing color & vivid imagery. one of my favorite poolside images is part of a series of women poised by a swimming pool, entitled swim party. mr. nelson's works have also frequently graced the cover of the new yorker, almost surely including him in the same elite group of artists who have so accurately captured americana at it's greatest.
