an ode to pie.

i love turkey, mashed potatoes & stuffing, but long ago, i sold my heart to pie.delicious, smooth, creamy pumpkin pie, with massive dollops of whipped cream on top. if you have a homemade crust, you're my new best friend.my daddy taught me to like fruit pies. preferably apple. but any rhubarb, peach, or cherry will do. don't forget the ice cream on the side & don't you dare serve it to me cold.keep your pecan pie - don't bother me with those nut or meat pies. just pass the freshly baked, crisply sliced & appropriately decked out pumpkin pie over here. you weren't going to eat that last slice, were you?
happy thanksgiving to all. you can send your leftover pie slices to me, i'll take one for the team & help you avoid those guilty cravings...
